Bringing A Digger Through A House
In Birmingham, it is not uncommon to find that the only way to get to the back of a house is through the house itself. Obviously this is not ideal, but literally this applies to many streets and districts. Amazingly there are diggers designed to get through standard size doors. Seeing is believing, here is Adrian bringing a digger through a house.
Preparation: To make this work we have laid marine plywood down on the ground for the digger to manoeuvre on. The digger has rubber tracks.
The other issue is not only does a digger make the job of preparing the foundations easier and quicker, but if the only way to get a digger in, is through the house. The same applies to removing any excess material.
Once The Site Is Prepared
Once any old material has been removed – through the house, the next step is;-
- Hardcore for foundations
- Sand
- Cement
- Bricks
- Flagstones / pavers whatever
The fact that we have got the boards down to get the digger in, also means we have them down to move all the material back and forth to do the job, and then at the end take the digger out and take up the boards.
